Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how cPlay handles information when you use the app and website.
How cPlay works
cPlay hosts a dashboard on your iPhone and serves it to devices on your local network, typically your Tesla browser connected through Personal Hotspot. Most dashboard data stays on your phone and is shared only with connected devices on that local network while the dashboard is running.
Information the app uses
- Dashboard settings, widget layout, themes, saved addresses, podcast subscriptions, and app preferences may be stored on your device.
- With your permission, cPlay may access calendar events, contacts, location, Apple Music library, HomeKit scenes, microphone input, and speech recognition to power widgets and voice features.
- Calendar, contact, and media data shown on the dashboard are transmitted over your local network to the connected browser while the dashboard server is active. cPlay does not upload this dashboard content to Cody1 servers.
- If you enable the voice assistant and provide an OpenAI API key, voice audio is converted to text on your device and requests are sent directly from your iPhone to OpenAI according to OpenAI’s policies.
- Weather information is fetched from Open-Meteo using location from your iPhone when the weather widget is enabled.
- If you purchase cPlay Pro, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store under Apple’s own privacy terms.
Information the website uses
The marketing website is a static site and does not require an account. The contact page opens your email app with a draft message; it does not store form submissions on our servers. Your browser may send standard request information, such as IP address and user agent, to Cloudflare so the website can be served securely.
How information is used
- To display and control your chosen dashboard widgets on connected devices.
- To save your layout, appearance, and in-app settings.
- To run actions you request, such as launching navigation, controlling media, calling a contact, or executing a HomeKit scene.
- To provide optional voice assistant functionality when configured.
- To diagnose app issues when you contact support.
Third-party services
- Apple App Store and StoreKit.
- OpenAI, when you choose to enable the voice assistant with your own API key.
- Open-Meteo for weather data.
- Waze, Apple Maps, Spotify, and other apps or websites you choose to open from dashboard actions.
- Cloudflare Pages for website hosting.
Your controls
- Grant or revoke iOS permissions for calendar, contacts, location, media, microphone, speech recognition, and HomeKit in iOS Settings.
- Remove or avoid enabling widgets that require data you do not want shown on your dashboard.
- Stop the dashboard at any time to end local network sharing from the app.
- Delete the app to remove local app data from your device. Some information held by Apple, OpenAI, or other third parties is controlled by those providers.
Children
cPlay is intended for drivers and general adult use. The app is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
